Purpose of meeting. (If you checked the “Public” box above, everything in this section will display on the public calendar)
At our July book club meeting (we meet in the library by the fireplace) we read Tailspin, about an area soldier's POW experience in WWII. Someone asked if anyone knew a former POW and I said I knew a former WWII POW . His daughter, Joyce Hemphill is a friend and a former instructor at UW Madison. She has created a power point presentation and has visited the former POW camp in Poland. I have asked her to give a short presentation (20-25 minutes) about his WWII experience. He kept a diary that she has. We hope that members of our book club will stay and listen to the presentation. We will also invite members of the American Legion and any friends they wish to invite. It will be open to the public but not publicized.
